art babes @ scma: Plastic Play

  • Thursday, April 25, 2019
  • Museum of Art
  • 10:15–11 AM
  • Join museum educator Gina Hall for an artful adventure fit for toddlers and their caregivers. We’ll explore a different theme each session, in the museum’s galleries and the Smith College campus. Each session offered twice, on a Thursday + Saturday of the same week from 10:15–11 am.

In April, mark Earth Month with an exploration of the special exhibition Plastic Entanglements: Ecology, Aesthetics, Materials. Check out artist Aurora Robson's sculptures Ona and Isla, named for her daughters, and see if we can make a towering sculpture of recyclables taller than a toddler! Plus, participate in a plastic toy swap: bring a gently-used toy in working condition that your child has grown tired of, and trade it for something new to you! Any unclaimed toys will be donated to the Northampton's ReCenter Swap Shop.

Open to members + nonmembers | Register in advance.
SCMA members FREE | nonmembers pay only the museum admission fee.
This program is underwritten by the Members of SCMA. JOIN today.
Registration for members opens on March 1 | Registration for nonmembers opens April 1.
This program fills fast and space is limited. Registration required: scmamembers@smith.edu or 413.585.2777
