Members' Extra: The Case of the Peddled Painting and Its Journey "Home"

In 1942, Ramesseum at Thebes, a painting by Lockwood de Forest, was removed from the Museum's collection as part of a sale of 15 paintings to a dealer in Pittsburgh, PA.
Following a carefully coordinated, sustained research effort that involved Professor John Davis, Jessica Nicoll, Linda Muehlig, and Samantha Page '17, among others, the painting is now "back home" at SCMA in an installation that places the work in historical and aesthetic context.
The exhibition was co-curated by Diana Wolfe Larkin and Alex Dika Seggerman.
Members: $5 | Student Members: FREE Members may bring ONE guest. Space limited.
