Four floors of galleries highlight objects from the Museum’s permanent collection as well as a series of special, changing exhibitions.
The collection is organized by time period and genre. On the lower level: contemporary art (painting and sculpture). On the main level: contemporary art or a special exhibition. On the second level: the Cunningham Center and Nixon Gallery, plus seventeenth- and eighteenth-century European masterworks along with medieval, ancient; and Renaissance period works. On the fourth level: nineteenth-century American art; early twentieth-century American and European masterworks; and nineteenth-century French art.
