Whitfield Lovell’s work explores aspects of African-American memory, history, and ancestry. To accompany his exhibition, the Museum will present two screenings of episodes from the popular PBS series Exploring our Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr: African American Lives. This series traces the lineage of a diverse group of accomplished African-Americans back to Africa using geneology, oral history, and DNA analysis.
