SCMA is free and open to all!
Join us from 4–8pm for an evening of art, making, and community at the Smith College Museum of Art. Galleries are open until 8pm.
From 4–7pm create beautiful “floating chalk prints” that capture color-speckled impressions from the surface of water sprinkled in chalk dust. Be prepared to potentially stick your hands into tubs of water– short sleeves are recommended. Tongs, gloves and hand sanitizer will be available. Leave your art to dry while you venture to the third floor to see color-filled Impressionist paintings of landscapes, seascapes, and architecture in SCMA’s collection.
From 4–8pm stop by the Pop-up exhibition in the Cunningham Center on the second floor. Curated by LGBTQ+ staff, Through Our Eyes is a Pride pop-up celebrating the perspectives of LGBTQ+ artists within the collection. Featuring a range of works-some deeply personal, others not explicitly tied to identity-the exhibition honors the presence and contributions of queer voices.
