SCMA Conversations: Decoding Caravaggio: Mysteries and Attributions in Sicily
Join Danielle Carrabino, SCMA Curator of Painting and Sculpture, for a detective-style exploration of Caravaggio’s little-known Sicilian period. Examine disputed works through technical analysis, historical records, and stylistic comparisons, then join the discussion to weigh the evidence and consider their true authorship.
Danielle Carrabino serves as the Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the Smith College Museum of Art, where she oversees the collection spanning antiquity through 1950. A specialist in Renaissance and Baroque art, she is the author of Caravaggio in Early Modern Sicily (Routledge, 2026), the first English-language book dedicated to the artist’s Sicilian period.
