Virtual Event
  • everyone

Join featured artist Jeff Kasper for Wrestling Embrace, a playful, thought-provoking virtual program exploring connection, trust, and mindfulness. Inspired by his work in Don’t mind if I do (on view through June 28), the session combines a visually rich lecture with short, optional prompts for reflection, journaling, and chat-based sharing.

Held online via Zoom, this interactive program invites you to participate from wherever you are. Bring a notebook or paper and pen and discover how Kasper turns everyday interactions into moments of insight and connection—no experience required.

This event is part of SCMA Conversations: A series connecting audiences with SCMA’s collection. Explore art and spark discovery—no matter where you are.

Feel the flow this Second Friday and come create abstract paintings inspired by the artist Amanda Williams’ painting,Typographical Lapse in Territorial Judgement. Williams worked with scientists to recreate George Washington Carver’s patent for blue pigment using soil in Alabama. She used the developed paint to create and map out ideas of place, memory, and Black culture using methods of abstraction on the canvas.
