Traveling to SCMA
Located in Northampton, Massachusetts, SCMA is a five-minute drive from I-91 and a few city blocks from downtown restaurants, shops and galleries.
Car
SCMA is about two hours by car from Boston and three hours by car from New York City.
Parking
Visitors will find plenty of options when visiting SCMA, metered street parking (including pay-by-plate kiosks and ParkMobile), municipal lots like the E.J. Gare Garage downtown, and on-campus parking after 5 pm on weekdays and all weekend. Accessible parking and a drop-off area are right in front of the museum. Bus
Public Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) buses stops are a few city blocks from the museum and provide direct service to surrounding towns. Routes and schedules
The Peter Pan bus line terminal is four city blocks or 0.4 miles from the museum.
Train
The Amtrak Vermonter line stops at Union Station in downtown Northampton, about six city blocks or 0.6 miles from the museum.
Visitors may also take Amtrak rail service to Springfield, Massachusetts, and transfer to the Peter Pan bus to Northampton, arriving at a terminal four city blocks or 0.4 miles from the museum (the Peter Pan terminal in Springfield is three city blocks or 0.3 miles from the Amtrak station).
Plane
The closest major airport is Bradley International Airport in Hartford, about 40 minutes south of Northampton by car.
