Join us from 4–8pm for an evening of art, making, and community at the Smith College Museum of Art. Galleries are open until 8pm. SCMA is free and open to all!
From 4–7pm Drop in for hands-on art making in the Boeckman Sculpture Court (museum atrium)
All ages welcome.Fold paper stars inspired by Younes Rahmoun’s sculpture Markaba (2016/2024), and create a twinkling garland to hang in your home for the holiday season.
For one night only, step inside and experience the sculpture Markaba from the inside. Staff will be on hand to assist and guide you through the experience. Markaba by Younes Rahmoun is currently on view in the lower level gallery. Please note that entry into the sculpture may require careful crouching and ducking.

Join UMass MFA student Adeyemi Adebayo in conversation with SCMA curator Aprile Gallant for a closer look into the portraits of Michel Kameni.
Adeyemi Adebayo was born in Osun, Nigeria, and is a documentary photographer interested in themes of home, belonging, migration, and the environment. He received his undergraduate degree in Agriculture and a Master's in Ecology and Population Genetics and is currently doing a Masters in Fine Arts at the University of Massachusetts. Adeyemi’s work has been featured in Nataal, Oulun yliopistolehti, Defunkt magazine, and NoWahala Magazine. He is the recipient of the Frank and Folwell Photography Award 2024, the 2024 ACDD grant, the 2024 University of Massachusetts UMCA Eva Fierst Curatorial Fellowship, and the Factory of Willow 2024 Summer Resident Artist.
