Rand's statement: I chose the pieces within this show based on instinct and intuition. Something in me resonated with the feeling, emotion, or sense of each work, and I was able to recognize something familiar from my own lived experience in the faces of the individuals portrayed here. Each work references and encapsulates a moment in time, a feeling or state of being, that despite different lives, cultures and histories, is completely human.
