This piece discusses works from The Gladys Engel Lang and Kurt Lang Collection, a significant collection of prints donated to the Museum.
During the summer of 2015, Hampshire College student Jacob Edwards built "To Ramble on Copper": Prints from The Gladys Engel Lang and Kurt Lang Collection at the Smith College Museum of Art, a WordPress website to host digital projects and resources focused on the Lang Collection. He also curated the first exhibition, Printing a Modern World, focusing on representations of modernity, urbanization, and regionalism during the etching revival of the early 20th century. Edwards’ 5-week internship followed his participation in Hampshire College’s Institute for Curatorial Practice, an intensive summer program focused on curatorial issues and the development of digital exhibitions.
We're pleased to announce that the site is now live. Come and check it out!
