Collection: The museum's collection ranges from ancient Greek vases to contemporary video art. The works in our permanent collection galleries are rotated regularly, so there's something new to see each time you visit.
This special installation, from SCMA's collection, traces the unique histories of over 20 of the Museum’s most important works of African art. New research has connected artists with objects that were previously unattributed, while the roles of collectors and donors are examined in conjunction with the objects’ own cultural histories and meanings.
Henriette Kets de Vries is the Cunningham Center Manager and Assistant Curator of Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the SCMA. She worked closely with Kurt Lang and featured works from his collection in the exhibition No Man's Land: Prints from the Front Lines of WWI.
